>I am raising funds for the Gloria Gemma Resource Foundation. My cancer journey started in 1994 with a mastectomy on my right breast, I did chemo,radiation and had a support group of both family and friends. This journey resulted in finding a wonderful husband and daughter. I was blessed, we married in 1998 and life continued to be great, did the tamoxifen for five years and all was good. I went along until 2015 only to be told it had gone to my left breast now. So chemo, radiation followed and I knew I could do this with the support I had. Then along comes 2018 and I had a persistent cough that I couldn’t shake and my energy was zero!! Wasn’t sure what was up, went to my Dr who sent me to my pulmonologist to run tests. Unfortunately I was told last August of 2018 that my cancer was now metastatic and I was stage 4!!! Wow, what a big blow this was, I knew I needed help and drove down to Gloria Gemma and spoke with Mandy and Maria! They were wonderful and got me set up with a group of women who all were metastatic!!! I have been involved with this organization and can’t tell you how many wonderful things they do for us. Help us to have support from other thrivers (as we like to be referred as). I am hoping that you can help me support this wonderful organization, any donation would be fantastic. I am going to be walking and carrying a torch this October with many other of my cancer family. Please donate and help us continue to give the many women out there who are struggling with this horrible disease. I continue to meet too many young women who are fighting this disease and it makes me angry. They have young families and they shouldn’t be having to face this!! I have been blessed with a wonderful family both here in RI and my Chicago family who continue to support me. I’m getting great treatment at Dana Farber in Boston and am thriving and wanting to be here for my grandkids and Bill, Aimee and Brian. Please take a minute to help me reach my goal, I so appreciate anything you can do. Love to all and many thanks to the Gemma family I am now a part of!!!
